We are a very friendly bunch and make sure that new members or those just popping in are included in our warm welcome. Our group has quite a varied age range and we have a few younger members too, as well as a balanced split between male and female attendees. Although we encourage BCSS membership we more than happy to have members of the public who are not members of the society pop in to see us now and again.
We meet on the third Monday of the month (unless indicated otherwise) at St Columba’s Hall in Headingley, Leeds.

We usually have guest speaker showing a digital presentation, demonstration evenings or open mike nights are also common where members can present a 10 minute spot about anything connected to our hobby. We try to have a balanced yearly program split between cacti and succulent topics, and have cultivation demonstrations to cater for both novice and expert growers alike. We also have grafting, growing under lights and hydroponic demonstrations too.
At each meeting we always have a raffle to raise funds for the branch and we also provide a range of branch plants for sale at realistic prices. From time to time some of our speakers also bring plant offerings so members get quite a choice on those evenings.
Occasionally we have an open greenhouse evening or local RHS garden evening away from our usual venue. This information is usually on the BCSS Forum, our Facebook page and in CactusWorld. We have a mailing list and if you wish to receive notifications about our events please email secretary@leeds.bcss.org.uk so we can add you, or contact us via our Facebook page using the icon on this page.
We also sell plants, with a plant display, at a number of local Shows, we would love to see you at any of these events.
